Knitting this cardigan is just so much fun, as you can easily guess from my quick progress. I’m working on it all the time – and the large areas of stockinette even allow for knitting while three lil’ kids are turning the house upside down, if you know what I mean.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is I totally have to re-think the lower part of this design. You know, when I first sketched it down, I had some crazy ideas with folded pockets that shape themselves as you knit your way down. It looked so nice on the pictures, but now that I’m approaching this part of the cardigan, I notice that I just don’t want to do it. I’m totally following my gut feeling here – yeah, I could do these folded pockets… I simply don’t feel like it. It’s that simple.

I have another wonderful idea for the lower part of the cardigan, and as René is out today for a Whiskey tasting with friends, I’m having an evening alone and will just knit, knit, knit and will maybe even reach this part. Fingers crossed! (I really hope he brings some Whiskey home. I don’t think I ever tried it before.)

Oh and by the way – don’t you just totally LOVE this colorway? It’s Malabrigo Sock in “Ochre”, and I adore this golden shine it has. It will be perfect together with this black balloon skirt I have, and I have a purple skirt, too, that will make a great fit. Thinking about it, I also have a petrol blouse, and a pink one. And a bright denim jeans that’s almost falling apart, but will just be drop dead cool together with this piece.

From March 21-23, I’ll be attending the h+h Cologne, a huge fiber show just a stone’s throw away from where I live, and I will so wear this cardigan there! Really looking forward to this!

By the way, I’ll probably soon be looking for test knitters for this design. If you’re interested, keep an eye out in my Ravelry group!
