You’re Beautiful

Posted on 30. September 2013

Are you ready for the next part in our little fall series? You’re Beautiful is a design that’s somewhat special for me. I don’t recall exactly when I started working on this project, but it must have been some time in January or February. I got two skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in “Terra” as a present, a colorway that’s a little outside of my own comfort zone and I wouldn’t normally have chosen for myself. But as I started working with it, I was thrilled with this color and all the different shades, and I simply couldn’t stop looking at it anymore. Get ready for fall… pt. 2

Posted on 24. September 2013

After a night full of sleep and a great weekend together with our friends, I finally have some time to show you another design I released recently. I’m really in love with this one. My friend has an umbrella swift, and while I really admire its construction, I found it always a bit shaky and weak. Then there are those who “sit” on the table top. Basically a base with four arms and adjustable dowels. The german word is “Mühlenhaspel”, but I didn’t find any good translation for that. Anyway – I really like the way these swifts work, but I didn’t like the look too much. It’s so functional somehow, so naked. No…

As fall approaches…

Posted on 20. September 2013

… and temperatures slowly start dropping, the time for cozy and soft handknits has finally come! Fall is my favourite season, although the rain does terrible things to my hair. But I can bear that. In the last days I dug out all my knitted shawls and mitts – the ones I wore last year and a couple of brandnew ones as well. It’s a little bit like meeting old friends again, and I had some fun putting them on and off and combining them with new pieces of my wardrobe. Some of them I love especially. My Amrei mitts of course – I wore them practically every day last winter. Inside or outside, in rain, snow and wind, when shopping, at the playground and pretty…
