German Raveler Meeting 2013

Posted on 27. August 2013

I’ve been to the German Raveler Meeting 2013 in Cologne from 17th to 18 of August. It’s been such a blast! I was there with my sister and my neighbor and of course I’ve met a lot of friends there as well. This is a photo Michaela of Wollfaktor took from Chanti from Chantimanou’s Handspinnerey and me, and in the back you can see Jules from Jules Wollshop just preparing her booth. So, involved in this shot were a hand-dyer, a spinner, a yarn seller and a knitwear designer and I think this might be one of the most prolific and versatile combinations ever and you can rest assured that we didn’t run out of interesting discussions. Sarah Dimond runs The Plucky Knitter as a small family business. She has a set of unique bases that are custom milled just for them, and the colorways a simply stunning. One of the bases Sarah sent me is Primo Fingering, a wonderful blend of Merino, Cashmere and Nylon, and this yarn is a great allrounder. It’s a perfect choice for everyday…

Otherside

Posted on 9. August 2013

Maybe you’ve already spotted in on Ravelry… I have a new pattern out! Otherside is a sleeveless, boxy summer tee, worked flat in one piece. It has a relaxed fit and the simple stripe pattern will make it a great addition to your everyday wardrobe. The construction is super easy and the stripes add just the right amount of interest to keep you entertained while knitting. Otherside is worked in Shibui Knits Linen, a wonderful and very special yarn. I had never worked with linen before, but it has really become one of my favourite fibers now. It’s crisp and feels dry when knitting, and the fabric feels almost like paper or pergament. But as soon as you water it the yarn blossoms, the stitches…
